Our Anniversary Celebration!

We celebrated our fourth anniversary at Hacienda Xcanatun, just north of Merida a few miles.

After our meal, we were completely surprised with the dessert you see above! Here we were in Mexico, we didn’t know anybody, and they had made us a special dessert for our anniversary!

The day before, our lone contact in this city of a million people, took us on a 3 hour tour of Merida. We mentioned our anniversary to her and she promptly told us where to go and that she was going to call them and make reservations for us and that they would take good care of us! They most certainly did!

It was a very special, memorable time for both of us.

Carma's meal: Taramind-chile chicken breast with Jicama and Mango salad, Fried Brie

Hey you two! Good to hear from you. I was just in a tiny store down the block from us buying an apple juice. The older man told me doce (12) pesos and I gave him 7 by mistaking a cinco (5) peso coin for a diez(10) peso coin. I watched him hesitate and I looked down and saw my mistake. I waved my hand and put the right coin down and the smile on his face was instantaneous and huge. They are patient and so kind.
