And romantic it was!
Campeche is a city of a quarter million people on the Southwest coast of the Yucatan. Founded in 1540, it was later walled in to protect it from pirates. Much of the central portion still has the wall in place. We spent four days there and loved it. The city is beautiful, the food was wonderful, and our lodging was located perfectly.
Our AirBnB host, Ricardo, was gracious and welcoming, and to our surprise, went to Metro State in Denver and travels back there frequently.
We loved the City, and will return for more romance in the future!
We will follow this up with with several posts, so we can share some of the experience with you.
